Dynamics 365 Business Central: important changes in PTE management.

The Business Central administration center has announced a new update that will enable administrators to fully manage Per-Tenant Extensions (PTE) directly from the Admin Center. Key roles eligible to access this feature include Dynamics 365 Business Central Administrator and Dynamics 365 Administrator. The update allows tasks such as uploading, scheduling installations, and upgrading or uninstalling PTEs. By the 2027 wave 1 release (version 30), the ability to install PTEs from the Extension Management Page will be removed, streamlining the process to occur exclusively via the Admin Center. Alongside, a new Admin Center API version 2.29 has been introduced to facilitate these processes programmatically. Users with appropriate permissions are now the only ones able to install PTEs, ensuring a secured environment. Admin Center changes involve the future deprecation of the Extension Management Page for installations. The YAMPI server, facilitating AI command management, will adapt to utilize the new Admin Center API.
