User defined functions, user defined types, and enhanced component properties move forward

Microsoft has announced updates to Power Fx formulas that will make formula reuse and maintenance easier. The updates include the introduction of user-defined functions (UDFs) that can include behavior functions with side effects, such as Set, Collect, Reset, and Notify. User-defined types (UDTs) have also been introduced, allowing tables and records to be passed in and out of UDFs. UDTs also enable bulk conversion of JSON untyped objects to typed objects. Additionally, enhanced component properties (ECPs) have moved to preview, allowing the sharing of logic across apps through a component library. These updates are experimental and feedback is encouraged before general availability.
