Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 Wave 2 release plans: “as is” and “to be”
Microsoft has announced its plans for the future release of Dynamics 365 Business Central in October 2024. The focus of the release will be on improving the integration of AI features into the ERP, enhancing the reporting platform, improving integrations with Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, and enhancing the apps and tenant management and reliability experience. IDC has positioned Microsoft in the "Leaders" category within its 2024 IDC MarketScape for worldwide SaaS and cloud-enabled small business ERP applications. However, some challenges identified include strict licensing, lack of industry expertise, and performance issues. The author suggests that Microsoft should prioritize scalability and performance improvements, including a scalable code, a redesigned posting routine, and a native way to handle corporate reporting.
