Finance and Operations Virtual Entity Manager for XrmToolBox
Microsoft is integrating its D365 Finance and Operations suite with the Power Platform and Dataverse as part of its One Dynamics, One Platform initiative. This integration allows for the surfacing of Finance and Operations tables as virtual entities in Dataverse, enabling the use of Power Automate, Model-driven and Canvas Apps, PCF Controls, and Power Pages with F&O data. However, there are gaps in the tooling and processes required to enable and manage these virtual entities. To address this, a new tool called the FinOps Virtual Entity Manager has been developed for the XrmToolBox. The tool allows users to list and filter available F&O entities, enable/disable visibility and change tracking, refresh entity metadata, and explore metadata using the Metadata Browser Companion tool.
