Easiest Power Automate Sequential Approval Flow Pattern


With Power Automate sequential approval, you can send approval requests to multiple people in sequence. This is useful for invoice approvals, paid-time off requests, etc. The sequential approval history is tracked in a SharePoint list. To enable sequential approvals, you need to enable the "Get new features early" setting in the Power Platform admin center. Set up a SharePoint list with the necessary columns for the approval process. Create a flow in Power Automate that triggers when an item is created in the SharePoint list. Add a sequential approval action to the flow, specifying the email addresses of the approvers. After the sequential approval is completed, record the outcome and update the SharePoint list accordingly. Test the flow by creating a new item in the SharePoint list. The approval history can be viewed in the SharePoint list.
