Free up Storage space – ActivityPointerBase and WorkflowLogBase (Dataverse / Dynamics 365)

The article discusses steps taken to reduce storage space in a Dynamics 365 environment. The author used the SQL4CDS plugin in XrmToolBox to delete records instead of using a bulk deletion job. However, even after deleting activity type records, the ActivityPointer table still showed occupied space. The same issue was found with the WorkflowLogBase table. The author raised a support ticket and the team ran a script to delete/reduce the size of the tables. The article provides before and after screenshots of the database usage.
