Dynamics 365 Business Central: BCMCPProxy vNext


Microsoft has introduced BcMCPProxy, an open .NET project on GitHub, leveraging the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for seamless integration between MCP clients and Dynamics 365 Business Central’s API. Initially designed for Windows, enhancements have been made to create BCMCPProxy vNext, allowing cross-platform functionality on MacOS, upgrading to .NET 10.0, and integrating improved authentication, performance, security, and error handling features. Notable upgrades include eliminating sync-over-async processes, enhanced thread safety, modern coding practices, better resource management, and platform-specific secure storage. BCMCPProxy vNext facilitates device code flow authentication across platforms, ensuring efficient user experience and allowing easy integration with Business Central MCP in various environments. The updated version is accessible on GitHub, with a contribution made to Microsoft's BCTech repository for further collaboration.
