Setting Autonumber Seed in a Managed Solution in Power Platform
The Power Platform does not include the ability to set the seed for columns with the Autonumber type in solutions. However, it is possible to set the seed by accessing the Default solution and finding the table and column where the Autonumber format is used. This creates an unmanaged layer above the managed solution, which goes against the principles of a Healthy ALM structure. Another option is to use the SetAutoNumberSeedRequest API request, which does not change or touch the column itself. This can be done through code or by using tools like the Auto Number Manager in XrmToolBox. Using this method keeps the column in a managed layer and ensures a Healthy ALM.
