ISV-packaged solutions are pre-built apps offered by Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) for Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM users. These solutions are designed to address specific business functions and seamlessly integrate with Dynamics 365 CRM. On the other hand, custom development involves creating software from scratch, tailored to meet specific needs but requiring more time, resources, and maintenance. While both options have their advantages and disadvantages, ISV-packaged solutions often prove to be the better choice for Dynamics 365 CRM requirements. Power Automate, a low-code automation platform, is compared to ISV-packaged solutions and found to have limitations in terms of coordination, customization, enterprise-level requirements, pricing complexity, developer recruitment, solution development time, community support, and lack of an "undo" option. Overall, ISV-packaged solutions offer greater advantages for streamlining processes and workflows in Dynamics 365 CRM.
