Recently, the author encountered a situation where they needed to integrate with a service that didn't have a Power Platform connector. They tried creating a custom connector but found that the authentication method they needed wasn't supported. As a workaround, they used the default HTTP connector and worked with secrets. In this challenge, they explore how to use secrets in Power Platform. The objectives of the challenge are to learn about secrets and how to store them securely, retrieve secrets in Power Platform, and know when to use secure inputs and outputs in flows. The author also provides an introduction to different authentication methods, including HTTP basic authentication, API key authentication, and OAuth authentication.
