Dynamics 365 Business Central: using AL MCP Server from GitHub Copilot CLI.
Microsoft has introduced the AL MCP server, a standalone Model Context Protocol server that enables AL development tools to be used with any MCP-compatible AI agent. This development allows for integration of AL operations into CI/CD pipelines and custom automation tools without relying on Visual Studio Code. It can automate AI scenarios such as CI/CD validation pipelines and AppSource validation. The AL tools are available as a global .NET package and can be installed using a dotnet command. The server allows for operations like building, compiling, and publishing AL projects, demonstrating enhanced capabilities in automation and efficiency for CLI-based tools.
