SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 21 is now available in preview. The latest SQL 4 CDS extension allows you to access tables that aren't exposed via the TDS Endpoint and perform INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE operations. The Azure Data Studio extension now requires .NET 8, and the ADO.NET provider has been updated to target .NET 8. SQL 4 CDS has made improvements to bulk DML operations, including adjusting batch size and thread count dynamically to optimize performance. You can now use INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE statements to work with solution components. The metadata schema now includes tables for picklist field options. Several bug fixes have also been implemented. Support SQL 4 CDS by rating it on the XrmToolBox store or sponsoring it on GitHub.
