Dataverse Long Term Data Retention is a feature that allows organizations to archive data to long-term storage. It helps reduce database capacity and provides more control over data that is primarily used for auditing or occasional read-only access. You can set up Long Term Data Retention by enabling it for specific tables and defining retention policies. Accessing the retained data can be done through Advanced Find or by using the SQL TDS Endpoint. While Long Term Retention still counts towards database capacity, the data is compressed, resulting in a 50% reduction in storage. To use Long Term Data Retention, you need a minimum of 1000 Dynamics 365 or Power Apps Per User licenses.
