User Defined Functions vs Named Formulas in Power Apps

Microsoft recently released User Defined Functions in Preview, which can be compared to Named Formulas. Named Formulas make data available throughout the app and update themselves as their dependencies are updated. User Defined Functions are a different programming structure available in Power Apps, but they have some similarities to Named Formulas. User Defined Functions are specified within the Formulas properties of the app and have parameters and return values. They can simplify code and improve app performance. Once this feature is out of Preview, it will be interesting to update existing apps. Managing the Formulas property can be challenging, and it would be helpful to have better modularization options in the future.
