Microsoft is bringing spatial annotations to its Teams mobile app, allowing frontline workers to access remote assistance capabilities without the need for a standalone app or HoloLens 2 device. The feature, currently available for iOS users and coming soon for Android, enables real-time collaboration with 3D annotations overlayed on physical objects. Workers can share their view with remote participants and move and change angles without losing track of annotations. By integrating spatial annotations into Teams, companies can reduce app sprawl and benefit from Teams' security measures. Microsoft aims to democratize mixed reality and bring leading-edge solutions to frontline workers.
