Deprecation of VAT return direct submission to UK MTD in Dynamics 365 Finance for on-premises deployments
Dynamics 365 Finance will no longer support direct system-to-system integration with HMRC for UK VAT returns for on-premises deployments. This is due to security requirements, and a new integration approach involving an Electronic Invoicing service will be implemented. Cloud-based customers will be transitioned to the new integration, while on-premises customers will lose access. The deprecation plan includes introducing a new feature with enhanced security protections in version 10.0.43 of Dynamics 365 Finance, and discontinuing support for the UK MTD VAT integration feature in on-premises deployments starting June 6, 2025. Recommended alternatives include migrating to the cloud-based solution or exploring third-party software alternatives for VAT return submissions to HMRC.
