Being a Solution Architect on the Dynamics platform can be frustrating due to cost and technical limitations. Some challenges include storage costs in Dataverse, excessive API calls, and the 2-minute execution limit on server-side code. These constraints often require architects to come up with workarounds to design optimal solutions. Microsoft's pricing for storage in Dataverse is higher compared to other services, and the inclusion of solution files and resources adds to the storage consumption. Optimizing API calls and offloading logic to other services are necessary to avoid API overages. The 2-minute execution limit on server-side code can be overcome by offloading logic to Azure Functions. Despite these challenges, the Dynamics platform has the potential to handle more without these restrictions.
