Dynamics 365 Business Central: Copilot, Azure OpenAI and real-world enterprise usage.
Microsoft has introduced the concept of Copilot, an AI companion, which is now available in Dynamics 365 Business Central. The Copilot Developer toolkit, currently in preview, allows developers to work with Azure OpenAI models and integrate Copilot capabilities into custom scenarios. The new SDK introduces the PromptDialog page type, which enables the creation of generative AI experiences with the Copilot look and feel. To use Copilot in Business Central, developers need to deploy an instance of an Azure OpenAI model, retrieve the details of the deployed instance, register Copilot capabilities, and call the deployed model using the Copilot SDK. However, using a single Azure OpenAI instance may not be ideal for real-world scenarios, and load balancing service requests between multiple instances can be achieved using Azure API Management.
