Microsoft Dynamics 365 has a component called logical columns that are used by the system to reference data. These columns are not visible to app users or customizers in Power Apps, and are not editable or visible in a solution's XML data. Logical columns are difficult to access and require the use of third-party tools such as XrmToolBox's Metadata Browser. With the Metadata Browser, customizers can dive into a table's columns and observe all of the properties that a lookup column has, including its related logical columns. Logical columns can be troublesome when trying to troubleshoot dependency errors, but they provide customizers with an incredible amount of flexibility when configuring the system, especially with the Power Platform.
