Contributing to the Business Central Base App has become easier with the system app of Business Central now being open source. You can contribute to the Base App in a private repo and address issues and add features through BC. To get started, you need to create a docker container using a small script from AL-GO for Github. This process takes about an hour. However, a new service introduced by COSMO CONSULT allows you to create a docker container and contribute using the Alpaca toolkit. This setup is fast and convenient, and you can start contributing to the Base App in just a few minutes. With the Alpaca tooling, you get 20 hours of free running time per month.
