Field Level Security for Custom Field Extensions in D365FO
Field level security in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations allows you to restrict access to sensitive data. This can be done for out-of-the-box fields, but what about custom table field extensions? The user interface in the Security Configuration area does not show table field extensions, so you need to assign access at a table field level via code in the AOT. This can be done by creating a new privilege and assigning the menu item and table field at the desired access level. Despite the bug in the user interface, the field level security can still be implemented successfully.
