Dynamics Marketing is becoming popular, especially for organizations with 10 or more licensed users of other D365 modules. However, one challenge is that segments, customer journeys, and other Dynamics 365 Marketing features require each lead to have a contact associated with it. To solve this, a custom workflow process can be used to automatically generate and link a contact record for each new or unmatched lead record. This can be done using out-of-the-box native workflows. The solution includes creating a "marketing only" contact from a lead, removing the marketing only flag when a lead is qualified, and modifying the contact views for sales to exclude marketing only contacts. Additional configurations may be needed based on specific requirements.
