How To Show File Type Icons In A Power Apps Gallery

Power Apps can be used to display a list of SharePoint document library files along with their file type icons and names. The file type icons can be obtained by targeting the correct URL on the SharePoint static assets site. To show a file type icon in an image control, the URL for the specific file type icon needs to be included in the image control's property. Common file types such as PDF, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations have specific URLs for their icons. However, some file types, like images, audio files, and video files, share a common icon in SharePoint. To display these file types, the generic icon URL needs to be used. A mapping table can be added to the app formulas to easily retrieve the correct URL for each file type icon.
