#GPPT Form Control Introduction – Making Maintenance windows Read Only – Part 1
Form Control is a customization tool for Microsoft Dynamics GP that allows users to make changes to GP windows without coding. It was added as a module to GP Power Tools with the release of Build 31. This article is the first in a series that introduces Form Control and explains how it works. The article provides an example of making Maintenance windows Read Only and discusses the need for Form Control to solve separation of duties requirements. The article also explains why other solutions like Field Level Security or customizations are not ideal. Form Control uses resource filters and rules to create customizations and offers over 60 rules for different functionalities.
