Are You Straddling Outbound and Real-Time Marketing?


Microsoft is pushing its Dynamics 365 Marketing customers to transition from Outbound Marketing to Real-Time Marketing. However, there is an issue with migrating Subscription Lists to Topics, as opt-outs from Subscription Lists do not carry over to the corresponding Topics. This can lead to recipients continuing to receive emails they have opted out of, which can have legal consequences. Microsoft recommends a slow transition from Outbound to Real-Time marketing, but the lack of synchronization between opt-outs in the two systems poses a challenge. Microsoft needs to address this issue by allowing Global Opt-outs at the brand level and synchronizing opt-outs between Outbound and Real-Time marketing.
