Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 Wave 2 release: Query.SaveAsJson… and why not more?
Dynamics 365 Business Central version 25 will introduce a new feature called Query.SaveAsJson, which allows query objects to support native JSON serialization. This means that the resulting data set of a query can be saved as JSON without the need to manually create JSON objects using AL code. The JSON serialization will be done without special formatting and DateTime values will be formatted according to the UTC format. This feature will be useful in scenarios where query results need to be passed to an API or an external system. The article also provides examples of how to perform JSON serialization in AL using custom functions.
