Azure Functions is a serverless compute service that allows you to run code without provisioning or managing infrastructure. When creating an Azure Function app, you need to choose a runtime version. Currently, there are two versions available: 4.x and 1.x. The 4.x version is recommended for all languages, while the 1.x version is only supported for C# apps using .NET Framework and will end support on September 14, 2026. As of December 13, 2022, function apps running on versions 2.x and 3.x have reached the end of extended support. To check which runtime version your function apps are using, you can use a PowerShell script provided in the article.
