The author shares their experience with the "When an action is performed" trigger in Power Automate. They learned two lessons: 1) If you want to trigger a Power Automate flow by calling an action, you cannot use the "classic" action and must use a Custom API instead. 2) When creating a Custom API to trigger a Power Automate flow, make sure to set the "Allowed Custom Processing Step Type" to "Sync and Async" for it to appear in the list of available actions.
