Rename Item Number in D365 Finance and Supply Chain Management
In previous versions of Dynamics AX, there was a function to rename item numbers, but it was deprecated in D365 SCM due to performance and data integrity concerns. However, Microsoft has reintroduced this functionality in D365 SCM v10.0.42. The new design allows you to rename items that were named incorrectly or needed to be transitioned without managing multiple SKUs. Renaming an item has implications on various tables, transactions, reports, and customizations, so caution is advised. Watch the provided demo link to see how the new feature works in D365 SCM.
