Developers working with the old .NET Framework on Mac wonder if it works. While recent .NET versions are cross-platform, older versions like .NET Framework 4.x are meant for Windows. However, there are options for working with plugins that require .NET Framework 4.6.2. Writing the plugin is not an issue, as it can be done with a simple text editor or Visual Studio Code. Building the plugin can be done using the "dotnet build" command in Visual Studio Code. To register the plugin, the Plugin Registration Tool can be used on a Windows machine or through WineHQ on Mac. While it is possible to build a version of XrmToolBox compatible with WineHQ, a cross-platform version of the Plugin Registration Tool would be ideal.
