October updates for modernization in canvas apps (includes GA of few modern controls)
In October 2023, Power Apps announced several updates for modernization in canvas apps. Some key enhancements include the general availability of modern controls such as Button, Link, Slider, Tab list, and Progress Bar. These controls have been transitioned from preview to general availability based on high satisfaction and feedback from makers. The updates also include improvements to existing controls, theming, and the introduction of field validations for error handling in input controls. Power Apps is also working on upcoming enhancements such as font properties on all applicable controls, more customization options for text controls, and additional customization properties for the Table control. Modern controls and theming will be default on in preview for new apps built in make.preview.powerapps.com.
