How to Build AI-Generated Charts and PDFs in Dynamics 365 Using a PCF Control
The integration of Code Interpreter PCF control within Dynamics 365 CRM forms enhances data presentation directly within the forms, eliminating the need for separate dashboards or Power BI views. This innovative approach enables dynamic content generation using live CRM data, such as interactive charts and AI-generated PDFs. The Code Interpreter capability in Power Platform allows Python code execution for tasks like data analysis and chart generation, with outputs varying from HTML to files like PDFs. Two scenarios were tested: an interactive Opportunity Pipeline chart on the Account form and an AI-generated Sales Proposal PDF on the Opportunity form, showcasing the adaptability of the PCF control to handle different types of outputs using the same underlying code. Deploying this requires the Code Interpreter feature to be enabled and AI Builder capacity for API usage. The control is highly versatile, prioritizing file outputs, such as PDFs, while rendering HTML content as needed.
