Dynamics 365 Business Central: new additions in Excel Layouts reporting.


Dynamics 365 Business Central has a reporting feature called Excel Layout reports, which allows users to create reports based on Excel workbooks. These reports can be customized using Excel features like formulas, charts, and pivots. In the upcoming version 23.3 release, three new system worksheets will be added to Excel Layout reports: TranslationData, CaptionData, and Aggregated Metadata. These sheets provide additional context and data for report execution. The TranslationData sheet allows for multi-language support, while the CaptionData sheet contains data from column captions and report labels. The Aggregated Metadata sheet includes metadata from the report object, request metadata, request page options, and filters. These new additions enhance the capabilities of Excel Layout reports in Dynamics 365 Business Central.
